Southern Order of Honor
The SOH was formed in 1975 to recognize Tekes who have made substantial contributions to the success of TKE in the South. There were 42 members as of the 2007 Conclave in Las Vegas and 5 of them are initiates of TKE Beta-Pi. Only TKE Alpha-Chi at the University of Louisville has been as honored.
The Beta-Pis who are members of the Southern Order of Honor are, in order of induction:
- Dan Laird, #3
- W. Miller Templeton, #23
- Russell Heil, #36
- Michael A. Smith, #37
- John Reagan, #40
Every two years, the SOH assembles at Conclave for fellowship, to recognize new members and to award a scholarship to an undergraduate Teke of the South.
At the 2007 Conclave in Las Vegas, John Reagan, Michael Smith, and Russell Heil (l-r) met up with undergraduate delegates Josh Marcy and Ian Stewart at the SOH reception. (The SOH members are the old guys in jackets.)
